You are probably wondering what the phrase summarize your home means. Well, as you read this self storage podcast, you will understand what I mean when I say its time to summarize your home.
In the winter, do you have to fumble through all of those summer clothes trying to get to your fall outfits? Do you find yourself shuffling through all of the sandals trying to find a pair of warm shoes? How about when you are trying to find your favorite pair of boots that are lost in the midst of the shoes you cant yet wear?

A self storage customer who is looking for a space to put all of their goods in typically need a moving truck. Especially if the person is moving large items like appliances into the unit or they are putting a lot of items into a large unit. You may come across someone who is storing boxes, but have too many boxes to fit into their vehicle for one trip.
It is likely that more than half of storage renters will need a truck to make the process a little easier. Properties who offer trucks have an edge on their competition who do not offer trucks. You can look up information like this in a self storage article directory online.
Truck usage may also vary from store to store. Some of course offer them and some do not, so you have to ask. Trucks may also be offered differently from site to site as well. You may find that one location simple rents the truck out for a few minimal fees while others offer them free to the renter during their move in process. Some stores will offer a reimbursement that will be applied to your future rental fees when you bring a receipt from your truck rental that you used. Some offer a driver along with the truck so you do not incur any fuel costs or rental deposits. With these, you do have to load and unload your items yourself or with your own help. If there is such thing as thriving off competition then I would love to bottle it up or keep it pumping through my veins. Many people that meet me do not believe that I am capable of being highly competitive or even have a competitive bone in my body. Oh it is there and it is feeding my determination.
I try to coach my people that are the self storage salesforce that they do not have to be competitive to work in my environment; they just have to be the best.
If I can get everyone on the self storage salesforce to feel and believe they are the best, that confidence will translate to the phone calls. There are a couple of different people that are highly competitive on my team and they come in to work with the plans on staying at the top. They do not want anyone to talk to their customers because they feel that they are the best person that can help the customer. That is a great feeling to know that people feel that way about their performance.
My people do a great job on the phones and they are getting many to believe that they are the best. There are some pretenders out there but we are definitely the best at what we do. Many people feel that they can do what we do, but they fall short. We are sales people. We are more than just lead generators. We leave the basics to those who just want to get by.
Tamara was tired and hungry and she needed to sleep. She had been driving for nine hours, stopping only once at a gas station and once at a rest area. Two hundred miles to go and she was home, coming down off of a long and elaborately planned weekend with her parents, helping them do odd jobs, shop self storage units for their extra furniture, put a fence around the garden to keep the critters out and repaint the storm windows. She drove up twice a year, giving her hands and her energy to accomplishing the tasks that her aging parents could no longer do. They did not want to move from their home of sixty two years, but they certainly did rely on their children more than they ever had in the past.
Tamara stopped and got an iced tea and filled up the gas tank one more time. She wanted to stretch her legs for a minute, to walk around and get the blood flowing again, but she also wanted to be home in her bed as soon as she could. She resisted the temptation to walk around and got back in the car for the final leg of the drive. Tamara was happy that she had seen her parents, but each time she went up there, she saw their struggles had increased. The time had come for her to begin to think about moving back to help them. Her apartment least was almost up, and she could shop self storage for herself, putting all of her things in storage and moving back in with them for a year, or until she found a place of her own. She had been thinking about moving back home for several years now, and after this last journey, she was quite frankly tired of making the drive. Her wanderlust had ended long ago. Now, it was being replaced by a desire to return home, and she was going to follow it.
